A Good Manchego is Hard to Find Burger

After another rejection letter from the community garden, Bob is determined to do anything to work out a deal with Cynthia — the garden master. Their compromise: her son, Logan — Louise’s sworn enemy — will work in the restaurant in order to write an essay for a college prep summer program.

While Bob spends time with his babies (his plants), Louise vs. Logan and Linda vs. Cynthia battle to the death in the restaurant. In the end, Bob is left with his own Sophie’s Choice: keep his garden plot, or his children. The role of a parent is ultimately one of sacrifice.

A Good Manchego is Hard to Find

Review

The A Good Manchego is Hard to Find burger is an amazing concoction. An 80/20 all-beef patty is topped with manchego cheese, sautéed shallots, arugula, and fig jam. FIG JAM!

I was unsure about this one, mainly the fig jam. Shallots are just small purple onions, so cooking them in butter was going to be great. We went with arugula, the recipe calls for that or Boston lettuce (arugula always wins that contest).

But the stealthy secret here is the fig jam. It brings a savory sweetness to this burger. And let’s just list this out: burger — savory, shallots — savory, fig jam — savory … TRIPLE-LEVEL SAVORY.

THREE. LEVELS. OF. SAVORY. After eating this burger, your taste buds will be so tired they’ll scream BANNED! BANNED!
